COLLAGEN

BLACK PEARL® collagen is sourced from red algae. Collagen found in the dermal layer, is often called the body’s scaffolding and is a major component of skin structure making up 75% of the skin. Our skin stops producing collagen and elastin between the ages of 20 and 25. Collagen in our products is used to repair existing collagen and create new collagen. Hydrolysed collagen increases the availability of amino acids to the body so that collagen synthesis is enhanced. 

Matrixyl 3000, a key ingredient in our 24K Gold Collection, stimulates the production of our own collagen. 

HYALURONIC ACID                

Found in our Collagen, Hyaluronic and Gold Collections, our hyaluronic acid is marine based and is sourced from seaweed. We utilise Lipigenine technology as well as Nanotechnology to create tiny molecules that are able to penetrate deeper into the skin. Read more about Lipigenine and Nanotechnology here.

Hyaluronic acid has the ability to hold 100 times its weight in water which ensures excellent hydration. It acts as a natural filler, adding volume to the skin. This plumping effect minimises the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Hyaluronic acid is also an humectant that is able to attract moisture which prevents trans epidermal water loss, and this prevents dehydration. Dehydrated skins don’t function well and a dehydrated skin is prone to ageing.

MATRIXYL 3000

Matrixyl 3000 is an anti-ageing peptide comprised of two proteins. It is used to target premature ageing by promoting the production of endogenous collagen and elastin in the deeper layers of the skin. It supports activation of the collagen repair process, and in particular at the level of fragile and UV damaged skin.

AMELIOX™

Ameliox™ is able to inhibit the glycation reaction, a slow naturally occurring process that leads to the stiffening of collagen and elastin, thus the loss of elasticity and premature ageing. Ameliox™ protects the skin cells from oxidative ageing and maintains the skins elasticity by fighting glycation. This in turn increases skins firmness and reduces wrinkle depth.
